tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976 in Torrance, California. He was born in the southern part of California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a star basketball and football player. Gonzalez was a star in both sports during his time at the University of California. He played a key role in leading the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receiving nine receptions, and tied it. Gonzalez was able to lead the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months after. Gonzalez then went to the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th pick overall. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. He was then traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He never caught fewer than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
