Suzanne Pleshette

SuzanneSuzanne Pleshette was an American actress, voice, film and television star, born January 31, 1937, and died January 19, 2008. Pleshette started her stage career and appeared in films during the late 1950s. In later years, she was an important actress in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). Then, she was in numerous television shows and was frequently acting as a guest. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, from 1972 until 1978, in which she won numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31, 1937. Her parents were Jewish as were the children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was a stage director of the Paramount Theater in Manhattan as well as the Paramount Theater in Brooklyn,
